RG-02: new traditions
Record Group 04 (New Traditions) investigates the intersection of stochasticity and structural neutrality. Utilizing a methodology of aleatory mark-making, the series identifies the unlikely associations between random distribution and the construction of individualized meaning.
The work functions as an interrogation of the gesture, exploring non-coercive methods of composition that reject traditional hierarchies of form. Rather than an expression of the personal, these specimens serve as a forensic study of the mark as a record of presence—identifying how meaning is stabilized within a field of stochastic variables. Through the transcription of these "new traditions," the studio seeks to define a visual grammar of non-violence: a methodology where the record is allowed to emerge without administrative force or structural coercion.
